Karen, This is an awesome botanical photo, so detailed you can pick out everything, from the various colors of purple on the outstretching leaves on the plant. Along with the detail of the bee what appears to be that he/she is feeding for pollen in the bud. Great job at blurring out the background to make the real subjects the plant and the bee stand out. Fantastic job. VOTED

Kaaren, lovely photo and it even appears that as a composite, the bee and flower are like a ballerina with the petal skirt. v/f

About Karen Harrison Brown

Karen Harrison Brown

Welcome to my website! I have always had an interest in photography, however, it has just been over the last several years that I have been striving to capture the "artistic stance" of my subjects. Landscapes, flowers, and the numerous other wonders of nature are the things that I enjoy focusing on the most. Now that I have retired from the elementary classroom (31 years), I am excited about pursuing my photography adventures. My husband, best friend, and mentor, Jeffrey Brown, has had an immense influence in my life and my photography. His encouragement, suggestions, and critiques (good and bad) have been very beneficial when I am working with my pictures. His words of wisdom, "Be all you can be" push me to see outside...
